Death Gun Salute Edinburgh Castle to Marks the Passing of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth

Soldiers of 105 Regiment Royal Artillery – an Army Reserve regiment fired three L118 Light Guns at Edinburgh Castle on Friday 9th September 2022 to mark the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. The Thirsk-based 4 Regiment Royal Artillery marked the sad passing of HM The Queen with a 96-round gun salute in York Museum Gardens at 1300hrs on Fri 9 Sep 22. The salute involved three L118 Light Guns. The next salute will mark the proclamation of HM The King at 1100hrs on Sat 10 Sep 22 in the same location. To mark the death of Her Majesty The Queen, the Death Gun Salute will be fired at 1300 09 September in London, around the United Kingdom and at saluting stations at home and abroad. One round will be fired every ten seconds, with 96 rounds representing one round for every year of The Queen’s life. In London, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, British Army, will fire the Death Gun Salute in Hyde Park. At the same time, the Death Gun Salute is fired at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company, British Army. Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin attended the gun salute at The Tower of London. Further Death Gun Salutes will be fired throughout the UK and overseas.
